Day 1Chandigarh - Rampur
- Embark on a thrilling ride through the scenic lower Himalayas.
- Traverse the winding roads through the Apple Orchards of Shimla.
Day 2Rampur - Sangla Valley
- Arrive in the legendary Sangla Valley and settle into pristine surroundings slightly ahead of Sangla town.
Day 3Sangla Valley - Chitkul - Kalpa
- Indulge in the Festival of Holi against the backdrop of majestic snow capped mountains in Sangla and Kalpa. The region resonates with the spirit of unity, laughter and unbridled merriment during the holi festival, creating an unforgettable cultural spectacle.
- Ride to Chitkul, the last village nestled in the valley near the Tibet border.
- Continue your adventure to Kalpa, a charming village that unveils awe-inspiring vistas of the magnificent Kinner Kailash range.
Day 4Kalpa - Nako - Giu - Tabo
- Ride through the contrasting landscapes as you transition from the lush Satluj Valley to the rugged desert terrain of the Spiti Valley.
- Explore the serene beauty of Nako Lake.
- Experience a moment of intrigue and spirituality as you visit Giu, renowned for its Self-Mummified Monk.
- Thrilling rides along roads carved out of rocks – commonly known as one of the World’s Most Dangerous Roads.
Day 5Tabo - Dhankar - Hikkim - Komic - Langza - Kaza
- The mystical realm of Tabo – the Ajanta of the Himalayas, where the ancient Tabo Monastery stands for over a millennium.
- Visit Dhankhar, the once-thriving capital of Spiti, adorned with architectural wonders that stand as a testament to its glorious past.
- Ride to the highest village in the world, Komic at over 15000 feet. Visit the monastery and take in the panoramic views.
- Visit Hikkim, home to the highest post office on the planet.
- Make a stop at Langza village, a picturesque hamlet adorned with a captivating Buddha statue and a revered temple, renowned for its exquisite mud craft and pottery.
Day 6Kaza - Ki - Kibber - Chicham - Kaza
- Head to the iconic Kee Monastery, a captivating sight perched atop a conical hill.
- Ride over the Chicham Bridge – highest bridge in Asia.
- Traverse the hunting grounds of the Snow Leopard as you ride along the buffer of the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary and if lucky spot the elusive Leopard.
Day 7Kaza - Rampur
- Follow the Spiti river down the valley through Nako and Spillow, head back to Rampur for the night.
Day 8Rampur - Chandigarh
- Head back to Chandigarh today where we end our trip.

This was the most rewarding experience of my life. . Spiti Ecosphere gave me an amazing volunteering opportunity that allowed me to help build a greenhouse in a small village in Spiti Valley, a mountain desert where nothing grows. I signed up for Ecosphere’s 2-week voluntourism program that combines volunteer work with the opportunity to explore the beauty of the valley without the negative side effects of commercial tourism. . What Ishita and Ecosphere are doing in Spiti is remarkable. Ecosphere is helping local communities create sustainable means of living through its many projects, volunteerism being just one of them.
