Day 1Guwahati - Sohra (Cherrapunji)

  • Your journey begins from Guwahati, the bustling gateway to the Northeast.
  • Leaving the city behind, head to day into the misty hills of Meghalaya.
  • En route, stop at the serene Umiam Lake (also known as Barapani), a vast reservoir surrounded by pine-covered hills – the perfect place to stretch your legs and enjoy the views.
  • From here, continue through winding mountain roads lined with waterfalls, forests, and Khasi villages until you reach Sohra (Cherrapunji), once famed as the wettest place on earth.
  • By evening, settle into your hotel and enjoy the cool mountain air. Overnight in Sohra.

Day 2Explore Sohra

  • Wake up amidst the rolling mist of Cherrapunji and set out to explore its natural wonders.
  • Begin with a visit to Nokhalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India, dropping dramatically from a height of over 1,100 feet into a turquoise pool below. The viewpoint offers a breathtaking panorama of the cliffs and forests that define Sohra’s landscape.
  • Later, take a short hike to the Wei Sohphoh viewpoint, where sweeping vistas of verdant valleys and cascading streams open up – a true reminder of why Meghalaya is called the “Abode of Clouds.”

Day 3Sohra - Shnongpdeng via Rangthylliang

  • After breakfast, set out for a day of adventure and exploration.
  • Begin with a 5-hour trek to the hidden Rangthylliang living root bridges, a stunning example of Meghalaya’s unique ecological heritage. The trek takes you through dense greenery, small streams, and terraced fields, offering glimpses of rural Khasi life along the way.
  • After the trek, continue your journey towards Shnongpdeng, a serene riverside village along the crystal-clear Umngot River, renowned for its emerald waters and calm surroundings. You can relax, take in the scenic beauty, or enjoy optional activities like kayaking or swimming in the river.

Day 4Shnongpdeng - Jowai
