Program
Day 1Manali - Kaza
- Drive through the famous Atal tunnel that divides Kullu from the Lahaul Valley
- Traverse through the beautiful Chandra River Valley
- Cross the magical Kunzum Pass (4551mt/14931ft) and visit the Buddhist shrine
- Stunning vistas of the Chandrabagha Mountain Ranges
Day 2Kaza - Dhankhar - Tabo - Kaza
- Today we will visit Dhankar, the erstwhile capital of Spiti
- Travel back in time at the ancient Dhankhar Monastery & Fort
- Head further to Tabo famous for its Monastery, known as The Ajanta of the Himalayas, which is over a 1000 years old.
- While in Tabo visit Monastery and the mystical meditation caves.
- Head back to Kaza for the night.
Day 3Kaza - Komic - Hikkim - Langza - Demul
- Today is a day of many highs as we travel into the highlands of Spiti.
- Drive to Langza, famous for its ancient marine fossils and the towering Buddha statue that overlooks the Spiti Valley.
- Enroute we stop at Hikkim, the World’s Highest Post Office – an opportunity to send a postcard from the top of the world.
- Journey onto Komic, the highest village in the World, where vast open landscapes and a centuries-old monastery define the setting.
- Lunch will be at a scenic vantage point, surrounded by sweeping mountain views and endless silence—giving you a moment to truly soak in the beauty of Spiti.
- Later, head to the remote and peaceful village of Demul, with its wide meadows, traditional homes, and untouched charm.
- Demul is a hidden gem that offers a glimpse into the real Spiti, known for its exceptional local Arak, vibrant cultural performances, and deeply rooted sustainable way of life.
- Spend the evening with your hosts, savour some of the famous Arak and gain a glimpse into everyday life in Spiti as you learn the art of making delicious momos and cook just like a local.

Day 4Demul - Pin Valley - Kaza
- Explore village life today and try your hands at some immersive experiences.
- Later head to the spectacular Pin Valley till the last village – Mudh
- End the day at Kaza and enjoy the vibrant markets and cafes.
To Balangri – a spectacular vantage spot at 5000 mt. for incredible views of over 18 villages
Day 5Kaza - Key - Kibber - Chicham - Chandratal
- Visit the iconic Key Monastery today.
- Drive to Kibber and onwards over the Chicham Bridge – highest bridge in Asia.
- Cross the spectacular Kunzum Pass (4551mt/14931ft) and visit the Buddhist shrine
- Head to the picturesque Chandratal – Lake of the Moon Goddess
- Tonight camp under a zillion stars.
Day 6Chandratal - Manali
- Drive along the beautiful Chandra River Valley to Manali.
- Cross the famous Atal tunnel – the world’s longest tunnel – that divides Kullu from the Lahaul Valley and experience the contrast from desert landscapes to the lush green of the Himalayas.
- End the journey with memories for a lifetime!

I've never traveled with an itinerary, so I was apprehensive doing the same here, but Ecosphere has done a wonderful job, not only in managing this programme for us but good work done by this organization is visible everywhere which somehow makes me feel extremely proud that I was tiny part of their efforts to do something good for real and not just for show. This was the most rewarding experience of my life. . Spiti Ecosphere gave me an amazing volunteering opportunity that allowed me to help build a greenhouse in a small village in Spiti Valley, a mountain desert where nothing grows. I signed up for Ecosphere’s 2-week voluntourism program that combines volunteer work with the opportunity to explore the beauty of the valley without the negative side effects of commercial tourism. . What Ishita and Ecosphere are doing in Spiti is remarkable. Ecosphere is helping local communities create sustainable means of living through its many projects, volunteerism being just one of them.
