  • Today we will spend the day acclimatising to the altitude and explore Leh its surroundings
  • Thiksey Monastery: Visit the “Mini Potala,” a stunning 12-story complex perched on a hill, housing the magnificent 49-foot Maitreya (Future) Buddha statue.
  • Shey Palace: Explore the ancient summer capital of Ladakh and marvel at the giant copper-and-gold seated Shakyamuni Buddha.
  • Shanti Stupa: End the afternoon at this white-domed stupa for a panoramic view of Leh town and the Indus Valley as the spring sun sets over the peaks.

Day 3Leh - Alchi - Saspol - Aryan Valley

Day 5Leh - Khardung La - Turtuk

  • The High Pass: Reach the summit of Khardung La (17,582 ft) for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Zanskar and Karakoram mountain ranges.
  • Into the Shyok: Follow the turquoise waters of the Shyok River as the valley opens up into vast, dramatic vistas.

Day 6Turtuk - Nubra Valley

Day 7Nubra Valley - Khardung La - Leh

  • Diskit Monastery: Before leaving the valley, we visit the historic Diskit Gompa, the oldest and largest in Nubra. Stand beneath the towering 106-foot Maitreya Buddha statue for a final, sweeping view of the Shyok River winding through the valley.
  • The Final High: Re-cross Khardung La (17,982 ft). This second crossing is often even more rewarding, offering a final chance to capture photographs of the expansive Himalayan vistas.
  • Scenic Descent: Enjoy the winding descent into Leh, passing through North Pullu and watching the city of Leh slowly emerge from the mountain shadows.
  • Farewell Evening: Spend your last evening in the Leh market for some last-minute shopping or simply to enjoy a cup of traditional butter tea at a local café.
