This journey takes us into the habitats of these elusive predators. While spotting them is a matter of luck, the trail will provide a great insight into their habitats. Spotting of the Red Fox, Blue Sheep and other prey of these predators is easier along with various species of high-altitude birds.

Day 1Chandigarh - Rampur
- Drive through the lush apple growing belt of Himachal Pradesh
- Follow the spectacular Satluj river to Rampur where we spend the night
Day 2Rampur - Nako - Tabo - Kaza
- The journey today takes us from the lush Satluj Valley into the stark desert landscape of the Spiti valley.
- Khab – the spectacular confluence of the Sutluj and Spiti rivers
- The pristine Nako Lake
- Thrilling drives along roads carved out of rocks
- Tabo Monastery – the Ajanta of the Himalayas – standing for over a millennium.
Day 3Kaza – Langza – Hikkim – Komic – Kaza
- Komic – the World’s Highest Village and the ancient Komic Monastery
- Hikkim, the World’s Highest Post Office – send postcards to your loved ones back home
- Picture perfect Langza Village – famous for its Buddha Statute and fossils

Day 4Kaza - Kee - Kibber - Chicham
- Visit the iconic Kee Monastery
- Drive to Asia’s highest bridge in Chicham & Kibber village
- Chicham, a scenic village famous for Snow Leopard sightings
Day 5 & 6 Chicham
For the next few days, we will head to various spots around the village frequented by the Snow Leopards and other wildlife in the winters.
Tracking wildlife is all about patience and being as quiet as possible. and of course, luck! Most of the next few days will be spent frequenting the various spots and waiting.

- Drive along the beautiful Spiti and Satluj Rivers back to the town of Rampur

This was the most rewarding experience of my life. . Spiti Ecosphere gave me an amazing volunteering opportunity that allowed me to help build a greenhouse in a small village in Spiti Valley, a mountain desert where nothing grows. I signed up for Ecosphere’s 2-week voluntourism program that combines volunteer work with the opportunity to explore the beauty of the valley without the negative side effects of commercial tourism. . What Ishita and Ecosphere are doing in Spiti is remarkable. Ecosphere is helping local communities create sustainable means of living through its many projects, volunteerism being just one of them.
